대한민국은 한국전쟁의 폐허 위에 온갖 어려움을 뚫고 세계 역사상 그 유례를 찾을 수 없는 산업화와 민주화를 모두 이루어냈습니다.

대한민국은 압축 성장을 이루는 과정에서 물신주의 팽배로 인해 생명의 고귀한 가치가 훼손되었습니다. 빈부격차에 따른 갈등, 분단의 상처에 따른 이념 갈등 등 사회적 갈등은 심화 되고 있습니다. 코로나19로 인해 경제적으로 어려운 계층은 더욱 고통을 받고 있습니다. 남북으로 분단된 지 70년이 흘렀지만 여전히 긴장 상황이 지속되고 있습니다.

대한민국 국민 모두는 기회의 공정뿐만 아니라 과정과 결과의 공정도 보장받아야 합니다. 남북 간에 진정한 평화를 이루어 전쟁의 아픔과 상처를 극복해야 할 때입니다.

대한민국은 과거의 낡은 패러다임을 버리고 공정과 평화의 가치에 바탕을 둔 혁신적 통합의 새로운 패러다임이 필요합니다. 우리 사회의 모든 구성원이 인간다운 생활을 보장받고 행복을 추구할 수 있는 사회가 되어야 합니다. 이제까지 소외되었던 사회적 약자들도 우리 사회의 주체로 존중받아야 합니다. 물질보다 생명의 가치를 존귀하게 여기는 사회가 되어야 합니다.

이제 우리는 공정과 평화의 가치를 대한민국을 넘어 세계에 널리 알리기 위해 공정과 평화 아카데미를 설립하고자 합니다. 우리가 추구하는 가치에 공감하는 많은 분들의 적극적인 참여를 기대합니다.

Establishment Purpose of Fair and Peace Academy 

The Republic of Korea has overcome all kinds of adversities and achieved both industrialization and democratization on the ruins of the Korean War, which is unprecedented in world history. In the process of achieving compressed growth, the noble value of life was undermined by the overflowing materialism. Social conflicts such as the gap between the haves and the have-nots and ideological confrontation due to the wounds of division have been intensifying. The financially challenged brackets are suffering even more from COVID-19. Seventy years have passed since the division of the two Koreas, but tensions still persist.The fairness should be guaranteed for every Korean from opportunity and process to outcome. It is time to achieve real peace between the two Koreas and overcome the pain and wounds of war.The Republic of Korea needs a new paradigm of innovative integration based on the values of fairness and peace, abandoning the outdated paradigm of the past. It needs to become a society where all members of our society can be guaranteed a life worthy of human beings and pursue happiness. The socially disadvantaged, who have been alienated so far, should also be respected as the subject of our society. It must become a society that values life more than matter. 

Now, we would like to establish the Fair and Peace Academy to promote the value of fairness and peace beyond Korea to the world. We look forward to the active participation of many of you who share our concern and agree with our pursuing value.
